The area of inundation in this reservoir is less than 157 hectares which has clear water with its winding shape. It can be said that this Sermo Reservoir can be a tourist attraction in kulon progo district. The area in less Sermo Reservoir is part of the hills Of the Village which is surrounded by the traditional hills that are eroded weakly to moderately. The bottom of the ReservoirSermo contains poly sandstone and claystone with abundant molluska. Its walls are partly grand andesite reforms. This ecosystem is an aquatic ecosystem with a variety of plants and freshwater. There is a compound of aquatic fish that develop in the ReservoirSermo, including: tilapia, tawes, bader, mujair, cork, boso, red devildan

The Sermo Reservoir was built in 1994 and completed in 1996 which was later inaugurated by PresidentSoeharto. The main purpose of the construction of the Sermo Reservoir is to store deep water when the discharge is excessively discharged. The water deposits can be used for various purposes of providing irrigated water in the hamlets of Clereng, Compassionate, Pekik Jamal, and the provision of clean water, especially in wates district and hilly areas in more or less TheSermo Reservoir. Sujali (1989) saidthat the purpose of carrying out activitiesinleisure timewithrecreation or tourism is to get pleasure or satisfaction whether born or spiritual ). The theory says that if the tourist has received satisfaction, the purpose of his activity has been achieved. The satisfaction of the tourists themselves according to Douglas (1978) can be determined by accessibility, natural area, & facilities. The concept makes it clear that the satisfaction of tourism can be studied through accessibility, natural areas, & facilities. Weber and Damanik (2006) also explained that the tourist offer elementis not infrequently referred to as triple A'swhich consists of attractions, accessibility, and amenities. Then the things described in some of these theoriesincluded into the elaboration according to 3A, can be used as parameters to study the quality offered by the Sermo Reservoir tourism object.

The significant development of tourists' visits to the Tourist Reservoir tourism objects related to the quality of the tourist objects that are located there makes it interesting to be researched. The perception of tourism that arises from the tourism object of the Sermo Reservoir with the quality it has will certainly be very diverse. This perception can later be used as a material for considering the direction of development of tourism objects for the future. Based on the background and the formulation of problems that have been described, the purpose of this study is to know the characteristics of tourists from the Sermo Reservoir tourism and to know the perception of tourists facing the quality of tourist objects of the Sermo Reservoir.

The method used in this research is a descriptive survey method. Jonah (2010) reveals

that in general this type of methodis labeled qualitative, that is, as a descriptive survey research method because it bases on interpreting qualitative data and not on statistical and mathematical techniques for which most data are quantitatively specific. Data collectionfromrespondents is obtained by using surveys. The question contained in the general news in this research focuses on the perception of tourists towards the quality of the Sermo Reservoir tourism object. Questionnaires in this study were distributed to Sermo Reservoir tourism officers usingthe accindental sampling method

The number of samples to be taken is as many as 100 respondents. The number of samples is obtained from the method introduced by Seville (1993) using the following formula:

n = sample size or number ofrespondents

N = population size or number of tourists in a given timee = Critical value (accuracy limit)

The tourist population of Sermo Reservoir tourism objects in the last 1 year from statistical data of the DIY Tourism Department is as many as 20,822 tourists. The population is classified as a grand population, which is why this study used a research limit of 0.1 (10%). Thenwith the formula of the method that

introduced by Sevilla (1993), hence the calculation of the number of samples :

The calculations above show that the number of samples from the population to be used as respondents is 99.52034, then in this study it will be rounded to 100 respondents.
